Orquesta Salsabor

Orquesta Salsabor is an energitic salsa bigband with musicians from Cuba, Argentina, Venesuela and Holland. The group is playing classics from the traditional latin and salsa bigband repertoire from Cuba (such as Machito and Benny Moré). Aside Salsabor plays the New York Salsa Dura style from the 70s and 80s, the music coming from 'el barrio' in New York (salsa icons such as Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colon and the New York Spanish Harlem Orchestra).

Orquesta Salsabor has been active for around 15 years on Dutch and foreign stages. They have played on numerous festivals and salsa dance parties. The group has toured through Germany, Poland and recently Belgium, and produced a number of CD's (most recent one is called El Otro Sabor de la Clave).

One of the recent highlights was playing in the final of the major class on the MeerJazz Festival in Hoofddorp in Holland and the band scored very high on the Best Dutch Salsaband competition.
